With extensive leadership, training, administration, and over 30 years of educational experience, Dr. Dawn Kum has been the president of Integrated Solutions, LLC, since 2003. The consulting firm, classified under a Local Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (LSDBE) Woman-Owned business, offers consulting services to private, public, and government entities working with diverse communities from their base in Washington, D.C. The consulting services are broad and include leadership development, public health, customer service support, project management, and curriculum development and training. Since its inception, Dr. Dawn Kum’s firm has formulated and managed over $25 million in grants.
Dr. Kum is highly invested in and passionate about special education, as well as working with individuals with various identifications. In 2007, she founded and managed a private school, the Village Academy, in Capitol Heights, Maryland. As the chief executive officer, owner, and operator until 2023, Dr. Dawn Kum oversaw all operational and daily aspects, including human resources procedures, financial management, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The institution served as a therapeutic day school for students from grades nine to 12 identified with learning disabilities (LD) and emotional disabilities (ED).
Dr. Dawn Kum regularly attends leadership conferences in line with her work. She also holds membership in Leadership Greater Washington and Jack and Jill. The latter represents over 50,000 family members making a difference in communities, especially in cultural awareness, educational development, health education, and civil and societal advocacy matters.
